The two hadn’t seen each other since the Covid pandemic began, and there was a lot to discuss. First and foremost was Magnus‘ 1967 911 S/RT, for which Matthias built the engine and – whomp, whomp – subsequently discovered a design defect in the area around the crankshaft main bearings. Magnus has only driven the car very carefully since this realization, which of course does not really correspond to his normal user profile. A plan was made to dismantle the engine over the summer to eliminate the weak points in order to be able to finally enjoy the car in the canyons around LA in the fall. The whole process will be documented on video and we are looking forward to what will certainly be some good entertainment.

There was also a lively exchange of ideas regarding interesting products for fans of air-cooled 911s. We’re still in the early stages here, so we can’t reveal anything specific yet, only this: it’s going to be exciting.
