Magnus Walkers’ Essen Outlaw Gathering

Essen, germany

On the Saturday of the Techno Classica weekend, our friend Magnus Walker, supported by the local Porsche scene around Rüdiger Achtruth, organized one of his spontaneous Outlaw Gatherings, this time at the Zeche Zollverein in Essen.

Outlaw Gathering

Zeche Zollverein, Essen

Announced on Instagram 36 hours prior, around 200 lovely people, from as far away as Hamburg, Bavaria, Poland and even New Jersey, came in around 100 cars of all kinds to bench race with the Urban Outlaw in beautiful spring weather. The highlights were a 935 DP III, a 924 Turbo with ethanol injection built by local Porsche hero Birte „Birdy“ Krause herself and an early 911 G model with electric drive that seemed rather bizarre, but maybe that is just us being exhaust manufacturers.

Other highlights were the T-shirts made especially for the Essen Outlaw Gathering by Magnus Walker, Matthias Hoeing and Lutz Lindemann and, as a reminder that we are Germany, the caretaker’s friendly but particular request to park our cars at right angles to the road. All in all, a very successful morning – many thanks to Magnus and his friends!
